Moss Mansion in Billings

Historic Site Billings Montana

Capture a piece of Montana history as you tour the Moss Mansion, home of the prominent Moss family.  See what life was like at the turn of the century in Billings, MT. Original furnishings, persian carpets, and artifacts bring you into life in 1903.  Settlement of the ‘wild west’ became quite sophisticated as wealthy businessmen built homes for their families.

The original red sandstone building was designed by architect Henry Janeway Hardenbergh, who also designed the Waldorf Astoria and Plaza hotels in New York City.  Many of its amenities used technology ahead of its time, and that are still functioning.

The Mansion is available for private events.  Elegance with a western twist makes a wonderful backdrop for your wedding, baby shower, anniversary party, or corporate meeting.  You can also schedule a time to have a photo session on the grounds.  Contact the mansion for more details.

Tours are available throughout the year.  Regularly scheduled tours as well as group tours, school tours, and specialty tours are provided. See the website for the schedule.
