Tour of Livingston Historic Districts

A great way to get to know Livingston, Montana is to take the Yellow Bus Tour through the 4 historic districts.  Learn how Livingston was the original gateway to Yellowstone National Park and about the Depot Center and its role in the town.  There are over 400 buildings on the National Historic Register, making this town a great way to envision life at the turn of the last century.

Learn about Lewis and Clark, Sacajawea, the Bozeman Trail, Calamity Jane and Madam Bulldog at the Bucket of Blood Saloon.  Livingston had a planned “red light” district, Chinatown, and an underground.

Livingston once had 30,000 visitors a day come through on the trains.  They were on their way to see our first national park, Yellowstone.

Today, Yellow Bus number 437 is in its 10th year of service to the town of Livingston.  Docents will guide you through the town and let you in on all of its secrets.  The tours run in the summer on Fridays, and Saturdays at 6:30 pm.  (Update as of July 2018 - check their website for exact information)

Ask your favorite B&B owner about specifics.  They are always happy to help out their guests with suggestions on what to do, and how to enjoy their part of Montana.
