Whitefish Mountain Resort

Skiing Montana

As winter approaches, you can feel the ‘ski energy’ in the town of Whitefish.  Most folks here are looking up at the Big Mountain, anticipating the blanket of white that will begin soon, and lasts way into the springtime.  People here love winter.  They love snow.  They love skiing.

Located in the Flathead National Forest, just 4 miles from downtown Whitefish, this ski area attracts visitors from all over.  With 11 chair lifts, 2 T-bars, and a magic carpet, there is a ski slope for skiers of all abilities.  Cross country skiing trails are also available at the mountain.

Ski lessons are available for adults and children alike.  Whether you are a beginner or want to bring your skiing to the next level, there is an instructor that can help you.

The resort is open every day starting on December 7th, through April 9. Night skiing is available on the weekends, as well as during the Christmas holiday week.  You can catch the Snow Bus from downtown Whitefish for a free ride up to the mountain.

Don’t want to ski all day?  Whitefish has plenty of shops to keep you busy.  You can also take a 45 minute drive over to Glacier National Park to see it in its spectacular winter glory.

Whitefish is the perfect apres-ski town.  After you ski all day, come down off the mountain for great dining, drinks, and music.  Check out our B&B’s that provide you with close access to the mountain, and access to nightlife also.
