Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park

Montana state park

Montana’s famous limestone cavern is open to tour at Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park.  Located amongst beautiful scenery along side the Jefferson River, just a short drive between Butte and Bozeman in Montana.

As part of your visit to Montana, the tour of the caverns brings you into the underground world.  Access is only by guided tour and starts by a quarter mile walk uphill to the entrance.  Learn about the constant changes that occur in this living cave.  See stalactites, stalagmites, columns, dripstones, flowstones, seepstones and pools.

For those who are not physically able to explore the cavern on the regular tour, there is the Paradise tour, which showcases the spectacular Paradise room.  It is by reservation only.  Please book 2 days ahead of time.

The State Park is also a great place for some beautiful hikes.  See the trail map here, or stop at the visitors center as you first enter the park.  As always, be prepared with water, snacks, and layers of clothing for variable weather conditions. And of course, your favorite B&B host can help you with tips to help you get the most out of your visit.
