National Heritage Museum

Montana's largest city, Billings offers everything from outdoor activities to arts and culture. Located in south central Montana, many attractions are within an hour or two drive from Billings. Ski for the day in Red Lodge and then come home for first class restaurants, music, theater, and your favorite craft beer.

Take a day trip to the Custer Battlefield Museum and Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument on the Crow Indian Reservation. Billings is centrally located to visit the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area, Pompey's Pillar National Monument, and the Beartooth Highway. Just 5 miles south is Pictograph Cave State Park.

Right in town is the Moss Mansion Historic House Museum where you can experience what life was like in turn of the century Montana. Summer is the time to get out and go to the ball game. See future Cincinnati Reds players at a Mustang Baseball game. Gather up the kids and visit ZooMontana and Botanical Gardens for the day. The Western Heritage Center and Yellowstone Art Museum provide great indoor activities. Of course, as in all of Montana, access to hiking trails, biking, hunting, and fishing is all close by.
