Emigrant - The heart of Paradise Valley
Along the Yellowstone River between Livingston and Gardiner lies the serene, small town of Emigrant, Montana. The Absaroka and Gallatin mountain ranges flank the town on the east and west. This is the area known as Paradise Valley.
Here you will find world class fishing, hiking trails, cross country skiing, and dogsledding. In the shadow of Emigrant Peak, look for elk as they come down from the mountains into the valley in the evening. Spot bison, wolves, and bears. Several outfitters in the area can guide you on the adventure of a lifetime inside or outside of Yellowstone National Park. The Lamar valley within the park is only a short drive from Emigrant.
Emigrant is home of the Banovich Art Center, located right on route 89. Close by is Chico Hot Springs for soaking away your aches and pains.
Paradise Gateway and Johnstad’s are two popular bed and breakfasts located in Emigrant.
