Thompson Falls - Peace along the Clark Fork River
The county seat of Sanders County, Thompson Falls, MT sits along the Clark Fork River in western Montana. Beautiful forested areas provide miles of hiking trails throughout the Lolo and Kootenai forests. Fishing is a main outdoor activity.
A short distance from here is Ninepipe Wildlife Refuge, the National Bison Range, and the Ross Creek Cedar Grove. In town, visit the Old Jail Museum, or see the Thompson Falls Dam which creates an island between the dams where there is hiking, a picnic area, and a scenic overlook.
